Jawanza Yero Willis ( J-Wanz)
Also know as Big J The Travel G
Was Born in San Francisco California grew up in Oakland. Went to George Washington High School in SF where he studied Theatre and was a part of the National Forensic League.
He later got into music, where he formed a Record Company (B.S.B Records) and a rap group called the Siggnett Posse where the majority of the lyrics were written by J-Wanz & Partner D-Flat. The EP produced by Penut Butter Wolf sold over 60,000 copies out of the trunk. Big J also worked with producer Herb Partlow, who is now a jazz musician. Additionally, he rapped and sang on other compilations and worked with other artists, including Willy Hen, and C-Funk J-Loc .
Though Big J has rapped for many years, he decided that singing was his calling. And has since vowed to indulge in music with a message of positivity, upliftment and the glorification of the Most High Yahawah
Big J Moved to Ghana officially in 2007 after getting married and continued to do music while writing scripts. He was actually taught how to write scripts by an up and coming journalist by the name of Chauncey Bailey, who was an anchor for an African American-owned T.V. station in Oakland, CA, by the name of Soul Beat. They were in the process of putting together a sitcom, but Mr. Chauncey Bailey was brutally murdered one day on his way to work.
It was one of many sad chapters in the life of Big J but he later began writing scripts and started coming up with movie ideas after beginning a new career sailing as a merchant marine, and through trial and error, he was able to write many fascinating, mind-boggling stories and, by the Grace of The Most High will come up with many more.
